How does rap music relate to Imus's racist statement?

I have heard a lot of sexist violent things in rap music, nappy-head hoes is not one of them. I have heard of women being referred to as

bitches

sluts

hoes

baldheaded

stupid

but never "nappy-headed". Last time I checked music was a form of art and self expression not the basis for every societal ill. Cop gets murdered... blame rap music. Riot in Los Angeles... blame rap music. Teenagers having sex... blame rap music. WTF??



Another thing perplexes me...

How is it that so many people who claim to dislike rap music know so much about it? I know there is some offensive music out there that has nothing to do with black people. The only thing is a lot of us don't listen to it so we can't point it out. Imus lost his job and I am glad. What transpired on his show was outrageous and justice was served.
