Too Much Love
Arrgh! I think I may have overstepped my boundries. Sisterlove is a strange thing. So here it goes. I haven't spoken to my 26 yr old cousin all day. So when I called her tonight when her favorite show was on and she didn't answer the phone, I checked by her momma's and my little sister's house to see if she was over there. Lil sis said that last she spoke to her she was going over her male friend's house. What she tell me that for?? Then Auntie called me a little later on to see if she was over my house. At which point I started to worry. Now anyone that knows me also know that I can be a little bit of a worry wart, so lets just say that it got bad for me. I got to thinking about how long sheknew this guy, etc, etc. And by the time she got home I was really worried about her and a little pissed.
So I fussed at her. She did not appreciate it.... and she was right. BUT at the same time unforseeable things happen to people all the time. She told me the usual things like: she is a good judge of character
she is a grown woman
she felt insulted by my attitude
she can handle herself -she/we are from the projects.
We both fought back tears in the end because the mutual love and respect between us is strong and we hate to fight with each other. I told her that I cared about none of the above and that no matter how tough we are, we are still women. We can be overpowered. So I overreacted. Thankfully, it was just that and not some tragedy like a car accident, abduction, or abuse. People are reported missing every day. When is it ok to worry about our loved ones? I don't live in a constant state of fear of anyone. I still see signs of missing people. Adults and children who haven't been seen of or spoken to their loved ones in years. So I wonder when will it be ok to worry? I love you cousin and I am sorry for being crazy.
